The Prevention of Snoring

1. Enhance physical exercise and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
2 Don’t smoke and drink alcohol. Because smoking will make respiratory symptoms worse and drinking will increase snoring, breathing disorder in nighttime and hypoxemia, especially drinking before going to bed.
3 The fat people should actively lose weight and strengthen their exercise. Our experience is to lose 5% -10% of weight.
4 The content of blood oxygen of snoring patients will drop and usually accompany with hypertension, arrhythmia, higher blood viscosity and heart burden, which easily lead to cardiovascular diseases. So we should pay much attention to the minor of blood pressure and take anti-hypertensive drugs on time.
5 Don’t take sedative and sleeping pills before going to bed so as not to increase inhabitation for regulation of the respiratory center.
6 To take a lateral position of sleep, the right supine is best. Avoid relaxation of tongue, soft palate and uvula in sleep time and increase the blockage of upper airway. Place a small ball in the back; it can help to maintain lateral-mandatory in sleep time.
7 Post-operative patients should take soft food and avoid hot food and violent activities.
